MP meets Petworth Primary pupils at the Houses of Parliament
Arundel & South Downs MP Nick Herbert met students from The Petworth Primary School during their visit to the Houses of Parliament last month.
The 60 pupils from years 5 and 6 are learning about Parliament and democracy. They met their MP during a ‘People’s Parliament’ tour and workshop. Mr Herbert spoke to them about his work as a Member of Parliament before answering their questions.
The People’s Parliament workshop took place in the Discovery Space, a dedicated exhibition in the Education Centre in the Palace of Westminster. The children experienced an immersive 360-degree projection of historic events from Parliament’s past.
Mr Herbert said: “It was a pleasure to welcome so many of the children from Petworth Primary School to Westminster and to hear what they had learned from their visit. I was delighted to answer some of their questions, and I hope they have enjoyed following up the visit with classroom projects.”
