MP celebrates hospice shop anniversary

06/06/2012 Arundel & South Downs MP Nick Herbert visited St Wilfrid's Hospice Shop in Barnham last week (Monday 28 May) to celebrate its tenth anniversary of opening.

The Barnham shop, which first opened its doors in May 2002, is located in The Square in Barnham and is one of the Hospice's seven traditional charity shops selling quality pre-owned clothing and accessories, DVDs, CDs, books and bric-a-brac.

The retail shops are an important source of funding for St Wilfrid's Hospice which relies on the generosity and support of volunteers and donors alike.

There are over 500 volunteers who help out by generously giving their time both in the hospice and in the shops.

To celebrate the Barnham shop's tenth anniversary, shop manager Margaret Dowling, St Wilfrid's Chief Executive Alison Moorey and the Hospice's trustees invited friends, volunteers and the public to visit the shop and enjoy a slice of cake.

Following the visit, Mr Herbert commented: "It was a pleasure to visit St Wilfrid's shop in Barnham to celebrate its ten year anniversary and I was delighted to see so many people turn out to support them."

"St Wilfrid's Hospice provides a marvellous service for its patients and families and their charity shops provide a vital source of income to allow this."
