MP visits Sussexdown care home Christmas Fayre
Arundel & South Downs MP Nick Herbert joined the Friends and residents of Sussexdown care home at their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday (3 December).
The care home in Storrington welcomed friends, families and the local community at their festive event to raise money for the Sussexdown Residents’ Amenity Fund. The funds raised from the Fayre will go towards a Christmas party and gifts for the residents and staff.
The MP visited the stalls selling gifts and hand-crafted cards and decorations made by the residents and chatted to visitors. Father Christmas was in residence in the Grotto as a treat for the younger visitors.
Paula Keene, Chairman of Friends of Sussexdown, said: “We were delighted by the support from local people and thankful for their wonderful generosity. Our Christmas Fayre is a real highlight of the year for residents and staff, and we are very grateful to Nick for taking the time to visit us.”
The Friends of Sussexdown raise money throughout the year to provide activities, entertainment and outings for the residents at the care home.
Mr Herbert said: “It is always a pleasure to visit Sussexdown and I was delighted to support the Christmas Fayre. It was good to meet many of the residents and to see how much they enjoyed the event."
