MP visits Garden Cottage Nursery school
Children staged a special concert for Arundel & South Downs MP Nick Herbert when he visited Garden Cottage Nursery in Washington.
The nursery, owned by Jane Denman, is situated in the grounds of Highden Farm, next to Windlesham House School in Washington and is a facility for 2 to 5 year olds.
It was opened in April 2000 and has its own car park and playground facilities as well as taking full advantage of the facilities on offer at Windlesham House School, such as sports, golf, gym and chapel.
The staff and children welcomed Nick Herbert with a mini-concert of songs performed by the pupils who are aged between 2 and 5.
Mr Herbert was then presented with a special gift of a photobook charting all the children's activities in the school, and a school calendar.
Garden Cottage Nursery has been given an ‘outstanding' rating from Ofsted in all categories, recognising its welcoming atmosphere, range of activities and dedicated staff who have built great relationships with children.
Nick Herbert commented: "It was a huge pleasure to visit Garden Cottage Nursery and I could immediately see why the school is so popular with parents. There was a special atmosphere and the children obviously loved being there.
"Jane Denman and her team have built a wonderful nursery which welcomes children from all backgrounds including those with special needs. I am so pleased that I was able to visit it."
