MP meets students at Slindon College

26/03/2012

Arundel & South Downs MP Nick Herbert visited independent school Slindon College last week (March 16) for a tour of the grounds and to meet students.

Slindon College is an independent day and boarding school providing specialist learning support for boys aged 8 to 16.

There are currently around 100 boys attending the school, with a teacher to pupil ratio of 1:5, meaning students are given the individual attention they require.

Mr Herbert was given a guided tour of the school's classrooms and facilities and had the opportunity to meet and talk with some of the teaching staff and head.

During the visit Mr Herbert also had the opportunity to meet some of the pupils in their lessons, including some design students who had the chance to showcase their work to the MP.

Head teacher Ian Graham said: "It was a pleasure to have Nick Herbert MP visit Slindon College, and I hope he enjoyed the school tour and was impressed by the pupils he met and the work they were doing"

Following the visit, Mr Herbert commented: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Slindon College and see at first hand what they do for children who require additional support in their education.

"Few schools could be located in such a superb position on the Downs, and I very much enjoyed my visit and meeting some the pupils."
