Sussex Snowdrop patrons join charity walk
Nick Herbert and the Bishop of Chichester, The Right Reverend Dr Martin Warner, joined walkers at the annual Snowdrop Charity Walk in Arundel on Sunday (14 May).
Both are Patrons for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust based in Walberton which provides nursing care at home for local children with life threatening or terminal illnesses, and supports their families.
The Trust’s Co-Chairman and Co-founder Di Levantine welcomed them to the Walk which takes place each year in Arundel Castle Park. Di was delighted to report that the event raised over £5,600 on the day and more has been promised by walkers who were sponsored. She said: "It was one of the most successful Walks that we have organised with over 950 adults and children coming to enjoy this lovely family-day out to support our charity."
The money will help the Snowdrop Trust to continue providing the vital nursing care for the very special Snowdrop children.
Nick Herbert said: “The Bishop and I were delighted to join fundraisers for the Snowdrop Charity Walk. This is a brilliant local charity which does so much to help families when they most need support. Di Levantine is an amazing person who was one of the founders and has managed the charity for 24 years without a salary.
“The Trust is currently helping 88 families in the local area. I am honoured to be a patron, and will continue to support Snowdrop in any way I can.”
