MP joins celebration for Pulborough Volunteers
Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert attended a special evening for the Pulborough and District Community Care Association volunteers on Friday (5 June).
The event was held in Pulborough Village Hall during National Volunteers Week (1 - 7 June), and provided an opportunity to say a big thank you to the many volunteers who make a valuable contribution in Pulborough and the surrounding villages.
The Association has been running for 49 years and has built up a strong network of volunteers who give up their time to help others. They support people in their communities with the provision of a range of services and activities including community transport, home visiting, a popular lunch club and many other social and support groups.
The Association is one of the strongest in West Sussex and plays an important role in the life of the village. This is recognised by the local Councils who provide the Association with funding support.
New volunteers in all areas are always welcomed by the Association, with training provided where necessary. If you would like to volunteer please contact Sheila Moore, Secretary, on 01798 813039.
Nick Herbert said: "The large number of people at the Association's event speaks for itself, with so many volunteers in the village who give their time to help others. The Pulborough & District Community Care Association is a model of its kind, and it was a pleasure to join them and to be able to say thank you for all that they do."
